Salescalator is an online sales academy that offers hands-on training, development and coaching, designed to boost your chances of getting a sales role in the tech industry. Salescalator students are coached by experts delivering advanced, modern courses, with participants joining a community of mentors and classmates. If you apply and are accepted, you will be required to attend online classes, carry out self-study modules and participate in group activities. Salescalator programs begin every month, for part-time 12 week and full time 4 week programmes. At the end of the programme, if you are ready for full-time work and have met all the requirements, we will help fast track you through top start-ups interview processes. Tuition can be funded in a number of ways with payment plans available.
There are several advantages to letting us help you through your career in sales:
1. We connect you directly with decision makers. If you’ve ever applied for a role through a job board or a company website, it can seem like your CV has been sent into an abyss
2. We put you in front of decision makers, fast.
3. We connect you to companies that fit your skills. Companies differ in what they look for in sales candidates. We’ve mapped these differences and will identify where you’re a good fit.
4. We can vouch for your skills, beyond your CV. The companies we work with trust our ability to find high quality talent that others can’t, even if your CV isn't perfect.
5. We save you time. Your initial time investment translates into expert skills and experience that would otherwise take years to develop
6. We support you after you're hired. When you join Salescalator, you join a community of mentors and classmates. Never take on a work challenge alone, again.
7. We train you and help you stand out. It’s hard to get noticed in tech. Our application process is competitive, and our training program is intensive. You will learn from experts who have built the modern tech sales curriculum used at top start-ups.
Yes. The skills required for excelling in sales can be developed at any career stage. We are focused on creating as many full-time jobs for as many people as possible. We hope to add more professions over time.
The full-time program is 4 weeks, Mon-Thurs, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. GMT. The part-time program is 12 weeks, Mon-Thurs, 5pm - 8pm. You must be free for 90% of those times. If you do not complete the mandatory requirements of the course you will not qualify for job introductions. This requires attending online lectures, attending classroom lectures, participating in weekly office hours with your team, submitting weekly progress reports and working with companies on real sales practice.
We work with a diverse group of applicants. We do not emphasize where you went to University - or if you went at all. In fact, where you went to University is usually not a great predictor of how well you do in sales. We care more about your determination, kindness, compassion, patience, curiosity, honesty, and positivity. We value doers, owners, hard workers, connectors, and thinkers. Clear, concise communication, and a commitment to helping others will go a long way.

Yes. Our training program is 100% online. You do need to commit to participating in all lectures through our virtual classroom, weekly video office hours with your teammates, and you need to be responsive and communicative in practicing real sales with companies.
Currently, our program is only open to those already eligible for full-time work in the UK / EU.
If you are outside of this region, you can still apply for the programme but you will need a valid visa for the country where your employer is based.
No. Our application process is confidential. We will NOT tell any companies that you were not accepted in our program and it will NOT affect your ability to apply for a role at any company. If you are unsuccessful in your initial application we do encourage you to re-apply.
You may join any company you wish after our training program, but the hiring partners on our platform are the ones that we have already worked with and are hence more likely to consider you as a serious applicant. The sponsored fee terms apply for all companies, on our platform or otherwise.
By completing our upfront pre-hire training program, you will receive the skills, experience, and connections necessary to secure and thrive in an entry-level Business Development Representative (BDR) role at a fast-growing tech startup. After one year on the job, many fellows transition into more senior Business Development or Sales roles or into other parts of the business, such as Marketing, Customer Success or Operations.
The BDR role is one that many entry-level individuals start with on their journey to becoming business leaders with more significant responsibility. BDRs play one of the most important roles in business-to-business (B2B) software companies. BDRs are on the front lines, finding new business opportunities in order to find qualified leads and set appointments for sales. They help drive revenue by identifying, connecting with and qualifying businesses that may have a need for your company’s products or services.
Initially, students participate in a 12 week, part-time, or 4 week, full-time online training program. The time commitment is 15-20 hours per week part-time or 35 hours a week full-time, and many of our students work part-time or full-time when they participate in the training program (and, some are completing their last semester of university).
The program is 100% virtual, so you can participate from anywhere in the world (that has a strong internet connection!). During the program, you will participate in live online classes, complete weekly assignments, meet with mentors and coaches, and get real-world practical experience doing the key tasks of the job.
You will be matched with a small group of like-minded people with diverse backgrounds from all across the country. These people will become part of your future personal and professional network (you may even end up working together for the same company!). We also introduce you to the broader Salescalator community, including graduates from prior Salescalator cohorts, employer partners and mentors, as well as other industry professionals.
Our curriculum is hands-on and created with employers for the specific job you are preparing for. You will focus on the mindset necessary to excel in your career and learn the skills necessary to master the BDR role. At each step of the way, you will receive a combination of real-world experience (courtesy of our employer partners) in the safety of a nurturing learning environment where we can teach you what will be expected of you when you step into the workplace.
Salescalator works with more than 100 of the best start-ups across the UK. With different countries coming live soon.
There are a few common traits that we look for in all of our employer partners. We qualify our employers based on their people, product, performance, and culture. We want our employer partners to have a good culture and supportive working environments, to have a track record of performance and strong growth potential, and to have strong teams behind them.
At the same time, our employers are diverse. Some have a couple hundred employees, others have thousands. Some are private, others are public. They all build futuristic technology solutions to solve all sorts of problems in various industries. For example, we have employer partners who solve challenges in cybersecurity, healthcare, government, and artificial intelligence.
After working with you during the program, we get to know you very well - we understand your strengths and your interests; we know your personality and ambitions. We then set you up with interviews at our employer partners where we think you will thrive. We work with you throughout the entire interview process to ensure you will succeed. Interviews are done by phone and in person (and if you aren’t in town, employers are sometimes open to video interviews).
Our students typically interview with several Salescalator employer partners before finding the right opportunity. You are responsible for earning your position with our employer partners, and we are committed to ensuring that you are sufficiently prepared to do so. Once you sign on with an Salescalator employer, you become an Salescalator grad in the Field.
For us, success is not having you earn your first job in the tech industry. Success is you taking this opportunity to break into the tech industry and spring-boarding into a great long-term professional career (just like those who have graduated from Salescalator before you).
As part of our investment in you, we commit to supporting you in your professional development while you are on the job and in the role for your first twelve months. We will meet with you regularly for career coaching, we will be there for you when you hit unexpected challenges, and we will support a feedback loop with your manager to help you perform at your highest potential.
As a graduate in good standing with Salescalator, you will also be invited to participate in our larger community of graduates in the Field. We will invite you to our social events; connect you with specific grads and mentors we think you should meet; and welcome you into a local community of like-minded people, who have come from diverse backgrounds from across the country to pursue careers in the tech industry.
